CLUB INFORMATION
Thank you for inquiring about Vertical Excursions Jeep Club.
The club was founded in 2004 with the intent of gathering Jeep
enthusiast in the Raleigh area together for family oriented
(JEEP) fun .The club has a reputation for welcoming everyone,
young, old, single, married, novice or experienced. The club
elects two officers and appoints one officer each year. All
money raised is used for club expenses and projects. All issues
are voted upon by the members PRESENT at meetings held usually
once a month. which emphasizes the importance of your
attendance. The Executive Committee meets quarterly or as
needed, and all planning items and proposals generated in that
meeting are voted upon in the usual manner during the following
monthly meeting. Members are encouraged to volunteer for certain
club offices when available.

you must be at least 18 years old and own a JEEP vehicle. Valid

any form of illegal drug use or drinking and driving. Alcohol
consumption to the point of intoxication, obnoxious behavior,
reckless driving habits that may endanger life and property of
others will not be tolerated. While the club discourages any
alcohol consumption while driving on any trail, alcohol is
forbidden by law in the National Forest areas and the club will
not assume liability for possession or consumption of alcohol in
these areas. Reasonable alcohol consumption in camp AFTER the
ride is permissible by those that meet legal age requirements.
DUES - Club dues are $20.00 per year for members plus a
$5.00 initiation fee for new members or for dues paid after the

renew in that period will cost you a $5.00 initiation fee.
OUTINGS - Club outings will be discussed and posted by
attending members at meetings to provide best departure and
arrival times. Allow plenty of time to eat, fuel-up, socialize,
etc., before the agreed departure time. All schedules,
directions to the meeting point, difficulty rating, and any
other vital info will be posted on the web site or e-mailed to
you. You are encouraged to invite friends and other enthusiasts,
but you will be responsible for them. Also, riding with the club
for long periods of time without joining is frowned upon. We ask
that after 3 club rides you put in your application for a
membership. We also ask that all members attend a minimum of 6
club meetings per year. We want all of our members to be active
in the club. The scheduled trail rides include a mix of easy
rides suitable for vehicles with few upgrades and more difficult
rides which require vehicles with most of the goodies. Some
rides are split up into easier) and hard groups though sometimes
the easy ride gets to be a challenge! The trails we ride can
also be close to home or they may be up to a 5 or 6 hour drive
away (based on a home in Raleigh, NC). The trails are in NC, VA
and TN. Our members come from a variety of backgrounds and own a
wide variety of Jeep vehicles. You're sure to meet new friends
on every ride.
MEETINGS- In addition to the monthly rides we will hold
meetings each month on the 3rd Saturday to discus upcoming
events and any club issues. The location of these meetings will
be posted on the Forum.
VEHICLE INFO - Members' vehicles range from stock to
heavily modified. 33 to 35 inch tires with proper gears and lift
to match, have become popular. While we don't inspect vehicles
before we ride, we do have some very strong recommendations:
-
All vehicles must be Properly Licensed,
Registered, Inspected and Insured as required by the State and
Federal Law.
-
Vehicle must be in Good operating order - We
go to ride, not work on vehicles. If you break down, rest
assured that the club will not leave you behind, but if you
vehicle is questionable, leave it at home and ride with
someone else.
